yeah that'd be hilarious, turning citizens in gingerbread men, OR even having gingerbread armor, thatd be sweet if it had jelly buttons

Indeed it is (http://www.neopagan.net/Halloween-Origins.html). Halloween and Christmas are both Christian adaptations of pagan Druidic holidays (Samhain and the winter solstice).

Interestingly enough, Jesus wasn't even born in December. His birthdate is not known exactly but is generally agreed to have been sometime in the spring. The early Christian church simply declared December 25 as Jesus's birthday to compete with the current pagan celebrations of other birthdays such as the Roman god Mithras. If you're interested in details, ther are tons of websites such as http://wilstar.com/xmas/xmassymb.htm, and a very thorough book called Suns of God.

But my point being... these holidays are such a mish-mash of traditions already... as long as ANet doesn't start spawning nativity scenes in Lion's Arch, I think we can rest assured that no one religious tradition is held above the others .
